In 2008, at the time of designing this garden, I was feeling influenced by Piet Oudolf and the teachings of Elena Kostantinova.  The combination of organic shapes with new perennial planting has produced some interesting layering effects in this garden.

It was important to take into consideration plants that would survive and thrive in extreme conditions, with temperatures ranging from +40C to -30C.  I used Molinia caerulea, Filipendula rubra, Monarda, Bergenia and they florished.
