RAZDORY MIDDLE SCHOOL COURTYARD

As part of BHSLA team I was responsible for the design of the inner courtyard for the Middle and Upper Schools for this new purpose-built school building to be located in the prestigious Rublevka area, just outside of Moscow. 

 

My approach to this site was to design walkways along the desire lines.  The rectangular lawn was placed in the centre of the courtyard and then all the building entrances  were connected with paths along the desire lines.  

This natural positioning of the paths worked extremely effectively. Subsequently, this pattern was developed further to accommodate the design of informal seating areas.
